BG Dallas Brown passed away on 20 August 2017. BG Brown was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 21, 1932. He was a distinguished military graduate of Army ROTC at West Virginia State College in 1954. His military education includes: the Infantry Basic Course, the Artillery Advanced Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, USA Russia Institute, United Sates Naval War
College - Distinguished Graduate, and the Defense Language Institute - Russian and German - as well as the National Senior Cryptologic Officer’s Course. General Brown held a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from West Virginia State College and a Master of Arts in Government - Russian area studies-from Indiana University. His medals and awards include: the Meritorious Service Medal - 20LC-Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Master
Parachutist Badge and Aircraft Crewman Badge. BG Brown retired in 1984 after over 30 years of service. During the latter part of his career, he served as DIA’s Assistant Vice Director for Estimates/Deputy Vice Director, Foreign Intelligence, Washington DC and later served as Deputy Commandant, United States Army War College, Carlisle Barracks.
