Lt. Gen. Lincoln D. Faurer, USAF (Ret), passed away on 7 November 2014 in Omaha, NE at age 86. He was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Scientific and Technical Intelligence in 1964 and served as a technical intelligence officer; development engineer; and later as chief, Space Systems Division, in the Missiles and Space Office until July 1967. In May 1974 General Faurer returned to the Defense Intelligence Agency as deputy director for intelligence, J2 and in July 1976 he became vice director for production. He became Director of the National Security Agency in April 1981. He retired from active duty in 1985.
Gen Faurer leaves behind a daughter, Patty Boten, twin sons Bruce & Doug and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but a service will be held later at Arlington National Cemetery. Additional detailswill be passed along as they become available.
