Brigadier General Neal T. Robinson, USAF (Ret) passed away on 27 May following complications in his fight with cancer.
General Robinson entered the Air Force after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1974 and retiring in June 2005 after 31 years of service. Overseas assignments included a tour of duty in Tehran, Iran, where he was briefly held as one of the American hostages during the 1979 overthrow of the Shah and ensuing US hostage crisis. Neal is remembered by his many DIA friends from when he was an analyst with the Middle East/North Africa Division, Current Intelligence Directorate (J2), Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C. from June 1983 - June 1986.
A public memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, 17 June at Christ Church, Millwood, VA, and his burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. You may send condolences to Neal’s wife and family at:
