Bernard T. "Terry" Devaney Sr, 88, former DIA Analyst, died 7 April 2019 in Bowie, MD. Terry was born in New York City and moved to Maryland in 1942. He attended DeMatha Catholic High-School. He attended the University of Maryland but took a break from his studies when drafted into the Army in 1952. After completing a two-year Army tour he began a long career with the Defense Intelligence Agency where he was a Senior Analyst. He retired from DIA after 35 years of service.

Terry served as a Trustee at Prince George's (Maryland) Community College and later as a member of the Maryland State Board of Higher Education. He also was one of the founding fathers of the Bowie Boys and Girls Club and involved in his Bowie community. In 1966 he ran for Mayor of Bowie, but lost. He enjoyed Florida vacations with his wife, Mickey, reading a good book, and lunch with close friends. He is survived by his children, a brother, and other family.
